This Crucial Tip Will Ensure You Get Paid What You Deserve After a Promotion

Getting a promotion is not a gift.

It’s something you’ve earned.

One of the biggest mistakes I’ve seen from newly promoted managers happens when a promotion is a result of someone else leaving.

I’ve seen this story 100 times.

Your boss or team member leaves. Responsibilities are distributed, sometimes with a new fancy title.

You’ve got more responsibilities, new directs, and a whole lot of expectations.

But magically the money is nowhere to be found.

You hear something like “Once you get up to speed.” or “Once you hit those numbers.” you’ll get the raise.

You view your new title and increased responsibilities as a victory so you shy away from the conversation.

Take this one piece of advice from me today:

💰 Ask for the money upfront 💰

This is your highest leverage opportunity, before you agree to the work. After doing the work for months, you have less leverage when asking for money.

Dont be afraid to advocate for your worth, and always - I cannot stress this enough - get it in writing.

Youve earned your new role, now make sure you earn your rightful compensation.
