Redefining Success: How Walt Disney's Journey Teaches Us to Embrace Failure and Persevere

It’s easy to explain away someone else’s successes. But when you do, you turn it into an excuse keeping you from achieving yours.

“They were lucky” “They had rich parents” “It was easier back when they did it” “They didnt have to worry about the responsibilities that I do”

Well I want to tell you about Walt Disney.

You’re likely familiar with his successes.

But are you familiar with his failures?

– He failed as an actor – His first cartoon business went bankrupt – He lost rights to his first creation, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit – Mickey Mouse was rejected over 300 times by bankers – His animators went on strike costing him talent and a part of his passion

But he would not let obstacles stand in his way. He moved forward from failure and became more determined to turn his ideas into reality.

100 years later, we know how that turned out.

The man had a lot of struggles. He grappled with his own ego. He struggled to maintain relationships. He didnt have it easy.

Your journey will have challenges. But like Walt, you can let those challenges shape you, not break you.

Success isn’t a linear path. Embrace the lows. Celebrate the highs. Expect to get knocked down and resolve to get back up.

Don’t let someone else’s success (or failure) be your excuse.

Take action.
