8 Proven Ways to Master the Art of Receiving Feedback: A Guide for Leaders Who Want to Level Up

Bad leaders can dish it, but they can’t take it.

Have you ever seen someone take constructive feedback poorly?

Where it makes you so uncomfortable because you see them…

Not listening Looking away Rolling their eyes Crossing their arms Literally huffing and puffing

😬

When I see this, it takes all my energy to stay in the conversation. Im embarrassed for them, Im embarrassed for me, and all I want to do is leave.

Don’t be this person.

Getting feedback is hard. Im not saying it isnt.

We all have egos and yes, we’ll all feel uncomfortable.

But good news! You can get better at taking feedback.

If you do these things 👇

– Don’t wait; ask for the hard truths – Assess yourself before others call you out – Make it safe to speak up (or expect silence) – Use structured feedback systems rather than relying on ad-hoc comments – Say “thanks,” dont say “but…” when hit with the truth – Focus on the fixable; ignore the personal jabs – Invest in self development and find a mentor – Ask peers; they see what you miss

If you can’t take it well, smart people will stop giving you feedback.

Don’t lose out. Level up.
